Help Lindsey with Radiation, Scans, and Gas
Donation protected
My friend Lindsey is a twenty-eight year old momma of two daughters, 3 & 5. She has been through a whirlwind. She was misdiagnosed with a benign salivary gland tumor twice now.
When it came back in a year and a half after having it initially removed on 1/8/2020. Her surgeon was concerned and after it was removed a second time on Dec 22nd he sent it to an expert Head and Neck Pathologist at UT Southwestern despite pathology originally coming back benign again. Second surgery below.
There the Head and Neck pathologist discovered that both of the tumors are identical and are actually a cancer called Basal Cell Adenocarcinoma. Unfortunately the PET scan shows one tumor was left behind. But no metastasis.
Lindsey is due to start radiation January 31st and does not have the best insurance coverage so a lot of it will be out of pocket and due to the large amount of bills already they have monthly, this new blow of costs for scans, radiation, and etc will be very overwhelming. She will also be traveling back and forth from Bowie to south Fort Worth during that time for radiation treatments for six weeks. She has to quit her job for the time being so all financial stresses will be upon her husband’s shoulders. Anything will help. For example her PET scan today was $811 out of pocket alone. All donations will go to a separate account that will be used for medical costs and gas for the trip to south Fort Worth.
