Help Lisa and Dave Ragen

As most of you know Dave Ragen is in the hospital fighting for his life. Please consider helping.

Wednesday 3/16 Massive Heart attack, rushed to the ER, and straight to cath lab. Was in there for three hours. Dissection occurred, trouble placing stents d/t the tearing. Finally successful, with two impella pumps and a pacer running the heart. He spiked a temp, and so cardiologist made the decision to remove the impellas and pacer although prematurely. He came through that in hopes of extubating the next morning, but was not stable the next morning. Antibiotics, multiple med changes throughout the day. Lab levels continued to be funky and urine output essentially stopped- next step is dialysis to hopefully help offload fluid and what the kidneys are not processing at the moment.

This is day four of a new journey for my family. As some of you know by now my husband Dave Ragen suffered a massive heart attack early Wednesday morning. The girls and I have spent as much time as allowed with him at the hospital.

After speaking with the cardiologist last night and this morning we are in a waiting pattern. Waiting for improvement... waiting for decline... waiting for prayers to be answered.

He is currently on a ventilator and under deep sedation allowing time for his heart maybe to heal enough. Due to the stress on his heart his other organs are also suffering. The longer he is on the ventilator the more concerning it gets.

He did have emergent surgery that morning. Several stents and a temporary pacemaker were placed, along with two Impella heart pumps. The pumps and pacer have since been removed. During surgery they lost him completely and had to shock him multiple times. Multiple being between 30 and 50 as they lost count...

We will try to answer messages and calls. Replies will not always be fast but we will try. As for support so far, we are overwhelmed with the love, hugs and prayers we have received from family, friends and coworkers. Thank you everyone.
