Help Lisa as she faces cancer

We did it!! Let’s keep going. Today we met our original goal for Lisa. As many of you know Lisa has moved into the palliative care of her journey, and has many needs. She is still undergoing treatment, fighting for more time and mobility. What an amazing support team she has! Let’s encourage her, be beside her to help with medical bills, housing and basic needs. Hi, Many of you know Lisa through her years of teaching and the lives she has impacted. The first time I met her we were working on Food Boxes during the pandemic and she was donating time and materials to make masks for her fellow friends and coworkers. The next time I met her, we worked at the same site and she gifted me some homemade extracts for baking because baking is one of my passions! Her passion for animals and the planet was always easy to see. I'm sure if you are reading this you have your story of how Lisa has impacted your life personally or professionally. She never left a person without leaving a little bit of herself with them whether it was the kindness to making a mask, sharing her talent with glass fusing, baking extracts or her love of animals. I think she especially made an impact on the lives of her families and students.

When I got the text from her about cancer and how far it had spread, into her lymph nodes and bones, I couldn't open it for a couple of hours. I didn't want this for my friend, none of us want this for her. When I stopped by the house and she was talking about how much she was concerned for those around her, I asked her what she was going to do to cover her medical bills, mortgage and living expenses and I knew at that moment this was that time we could give back to her. An opportunity to give her our support and encouragement to alleviate some of the situational stress of cancer.
