Help Lisa Start a Nonprofit & Empower Recovering Addicts

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Lisa and I am in recovery from addiction. I am also a senior leader in healthcare administration with a background working mostly for nonprofits for the past 18 years.

Over 4 years ago, I made the decision to get sober after losing everything in my life. My house, my family, my apartment, career - you name it and it was gone! Addiction destroyed me and those around me.

On May 10, 2020, near the beginning of the pandemic, I had finally surrendered. I went to treatment for the 6th time and then moved into a sober house where I lived for 13 months. I put my career & life on hold to focus solely on my sobriety. I want others to know that recovery is possible AND it is possible for people to rebuild their lives and rejoin the career that they once loved before addiction got in the way.

I am very passionate about sharing with others that your addiction does not have to define who you are and stop who you are meant to become. You are capable of having an amazing life and career again. I have faced many professional and financial obstacles since getting sober and had it not been for the support from others, I would not be where I am today.

I am ready start giving back and have worked on this vision for the past 6 months! I would love to have your assistance with raising money to assist with some of the start-up costs associated with beginning my nonprofit foundation.

I am aspiring to create a nonprofit organization (501) (c) (3) to help other individuals recovering from addiction to take the next steps in their life after getting sober.

The goal of this nonprofit organization is to be able to help people financially once they have successfully completed a treatment/sober living program and are taking the next steps on their journey. Some examples of this include, but not limited to: Security deposit on an apartment, Rent assistance in sober living & Scholarship funds to assist with furthering education & career advancement.

I plan to start small and grow into something larger that offers additional supportive services for people in recovery in the future.

I have started the steps for registration & my goal is to have everything submitted by September 1, 2024.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this, I appreciate you and your support!
