Help Lisa fight against Multiple Myeloma!

Hello! My name is Celena & I am Lisa’s eldest daughter. I’m creating this fundraiser with the hope that my family will be able to provide assistance with incoming medical bills, cost of chemo treatment, transportation, rehab housing and comfort & security for her young children.

This year in June my mom sustained, what we assumed to be, a back injury at work. She thought it may be a pinched nerve & for the next few weeks, she visited chiropractors & even did acupuncture therapy to try and ease the pain that was focalized in her lower back. At the time, it seemed like it may be helping but eventually she was in too much pain to walk or stand, so she was scheduled for an MRI. The doctors came back with news that she had a large tumor on her spine & would need surgery to remove & biopsy. They had to remove bone in order to reach the tumor but unfortunately were unsuccessful at removing it completely, as there was a danger of damaging good nerves. She spent the next few weeks working on her recovery from surgery. After some time passed, she was sent for another MRI, which came back showing that the tumor had grown back.

On August 5th, she was diagnosed with Multiple Myloma, which is a rare blood cancer that has taken over her bone marrow & doesnt give her much time. Doctors informed us that even with with chemo and radiation, she was given 5-10 years to live.

Since June, she has been in and out of several different hospitals, trying to get the best level of care we can have. Medical bills are starting to come in quickly & finding her an affordable rehabilitation center to move to has been a monster of its own. Her insurance doesn’t cover 100% of anything & she’s been denied Medicare assistance, despite being a single mom with 2 kids in the home and being unable to work.

This has been a massive adjustment for my mama & our family but we are keeping our faith, praying & trusting God to keep her strong enough to fight for her life. Thank you so much in advance for helping our family.
