Help Lisa fix her Palace!

Hi, this is Lisa. My mobile home, which I loving call my "Tin Palace," has recently become another casualty in the recent cold snap/freeze and fast thaw. The ice forced open some of the eavestrough, and then when the thaw came, water got in through the gaps. I found out when I was tearing out old paneling in my bedroom to install new stuff that could be painted- but found water in the ceiling and under the laminate floor. An inspection of the house revealed that water has infiltrated most of the length of my trailer, and some spots on the opposite side as well.

The repair work needed is extensive- obviously the damaged trough needs to be replaced and the holes repaired to ensure more water doesn't get in. The walls, ceiling or parts of the ceiling and part of the floors need to be removed, and the wet insulation removed as well to prevent mold. After all is dry it all needs to be put back or replaced as necessary. And of course it's not straight forward, things like my ceiling paneling not being available anymore is going to make replacement a challenge!

It's a major undertaking and a major expense as well. Unfortunately, though I do have insurance, they will not be covering any of it. This means the costs sits on myself and my family- meaning mainly my parents, who are my godsend right now!
