Help Lisa LeGrand of Dumont and her family

Donation protected
Fantastic update & thank you from Lisa and her family! Just beautiful how everyone has come together! Update:

Lisa is doing fantastic! Every day is a step closer to a full recovery. She's home with her family attending outpatient services for OT, PT, and Speech.

We are now on the next phase of her treatment. The pathology results showed aggressive cancerous properties which indicate the disease is a stage 3. This type of tumor grows roots and embeds itself into the brain tissue. The next steps in eliminating any and all residual roots include radiation and chemotherapy.

Lisa has started both radiation and chemo and all is going well. This treatment cycle lasts for 6 weeks. We will continue to update everyone on Lisa's progress and the next phases of treatment.

We are so incredibly thankful for every prayer, donation, and share of this GoFundMe. Thank you for your continued prayers for us and especially for Lisa. This has helped more than you can ever know.

My name is Maria from the Dumont Animal Hospital and I am organizing this fundraiser for my friend/coworker Dina's daughter Lisa and the LeGrand (Digirolamo) Family. Dina (Digirolamo) LeGrand of the Dumont Animal Hospital has been part of the Dumont community since childhood and her family members have served our Police Dept, About three weeks ago with no warning just an ordinary afternoon Lisa (29) had a seizure and fell to the floor. Thankfully she was found immediately and rushed to the hospital. Since then a tumor was found and successfully removed at 99 to 100% . What follows obviously will be lots of healing and intensive therapies. As a community we are so blessed that we always have each other and at this time part of our community needs us in anyway we can. If you can't support financially please support this mother, father, sister and brother and Lisa by sending your prayers during this stressful, emotional and crucial recovery. The gift of support of any kind is what we do that makes us who we are as a people

Below is a detailed account of what Lisa is medically dealing with straight from her family...

She passed out at home, which led to an ER visit.
Ct scan and MRI found a 3cm mass in her left temporal lobe.
Because of the location and high risk of damaging her speech, she was transferred to a specialized team at Cooperman Barnabus to perform the surgery.
They completed an awake craniotomy and removed the tumor successfully.
However, she experienced a stroke after the procedure, which caused partial paralysis on her right side. She spent a week in the ICU until she was transfered to a step down unit.
She's starting to regain strength and movement in her right leg.
She is also experiencing expressive aphasia, which means sometimes she has trouble communicating and mixes up her words.
She'll be going to a rehabilitation center to help with her mobility and speech (physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy). We want to do everything we can to get her back to doing what she loves. She's cant wait to get back to her voice leasons, music lessons, and rejoin the film program at Marble Jam.
