A few years ago, we were thrust into a journey we never could have anticipated. Our son Christian was only three when he was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, he has shown a strength and resilience that has inspired everyone who knows him. As Christian approaches the end of his battle, we finally began to see a light at the end of this long, dark tunnel.

Then, in a heartbreaking twist, Christian’s twin brother, Jacob, now six years old, was diagnosed with cancer as well. Just as we began to process the unimaginable, Jacob suffered a stroke, which has compounded his journey even further. Now, on top of battling cancer, Jacob must relearn basic skills we all take for granted—like how to walk and eat with silverware.

Our family is doing everything we can to help Jacob overcome these obstacles, even as we face the challenges of supporting our three boys. We are drawing on all our strength to make sure our precious boys know they are never alone in their fights.

Jacob is a bright, joyful child with so much life yet to live, and watching him face these obstacles with courage is both heart-wrenching and awe-inspiring.
