Help Little Lilly Sushi Open Again!

Our small family-owned restaurant had a kitchen fire on May 21, 2022. All donations will go to repairs and salaries (so that our workers can continue supporting their families). Any donation, no matter how small, helps!

 

When owner and chef Danny Liu moved to Arlington, TX in 2000, he knew he could make a home here with his family. He was a chef who chased a dream of owning his own restaurant, and he made it a reality 12 years later. Little Lilly Sushi opened its doors in Fort Worth in 2012. Why Fort Worth? Of course, it was because of the people. And Danny was right. For 10 years, you've all been welcoming and supportive of us. We made it to 10 years thanks to the people of Fort Worth, the DFW metroplex, and beyond. It wasn't easy getting to today, either. In 2017, we had our first kitchen fire and closed for a month. You were all patient and rallied behind us while we slowly repaired our home. When Covid struck and we switched to take-outs only, you all continued to support our small business. In May 2021, Danny was diagnosed with Stage 3 bladder cancer. He completed chemotherapy and beat it in October 2021. As you can imagine, there were many medical bills piled up and the total amount was shocking.

 

So when we experienced our second kitchen fire just a few weeks ago and were told repairs might take 2 months, we were disheartened. But then we remembered the people who have always been there for us. That's why we're humbly asking for support once again, but this time in the form of a donation. We hope it's not too shameful or selfish to ask for help from our friends and community. Regardless of what comes out of this GoFundMe, we'll do anything possible to keep our doors open and come back stronger than ever. After all, this is our home.
