Help Little Olivia with Brain Tumor Surgery

We really need your help to support Olivia, an incredible 8-year-old girl who is fighting a terrible brain tumor. Olivia has always been a happy and smart kid, especially when it comes to math. But since August 2023, she's been dealing with this aggressive disease.

It all started innocently enough with a little pain in her right arm, which we thought was just a minor injury from playing. But things got worse - she lost the use of her hand and started limping on her right leg. We rushed her to the emergency room, where they found a glioma in her thalamus, along with NF1, a genetic susceptibility to cancer. Since then, she's been going through weekly courses of chemotherapy, hoping to stop the tumor from growing. Unfortunately, it has doubled in size in just three months, leaving her right arm completely non-functional, her right leg progressively weaker, and her speech so slurred that it is often non-recognizable.

Now, our only hope is surgery - a full or close to full removal. After doing lots of research, we discovered Dr. Paul Klimo from Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, who specializes in brain tumors. We truly believe he can give Olivia the cure she desperately needs. There are risks with the surgery, but we're hopeful that Dr. Klimo's expertise can minimize them.

The only choice we have in Canada is to partially remove the tumor, which might provide temporary relief with only a 30% chance of success. But considering how aggressive this type of tumor is, we have to accept that time is running out. The tumor keeps growing, the symptoms are getting worse, and if we don't remove the entire tumor, there's a high risk it could become life-threatening.
