Help Little Reuben in his journey to heaven

Hi everyone,
My name is Amy. I’m the daughter of Reuben and Alice Rabago. Reuben Michael Rabago lovingly referred to as Little Reuben is my beloved older “little” brother. He was born on June 20th 1984. He came in to the world with a roar and my parents were overjoyed with a new little life to call their own. Sometime after birth it was discovered that Reuben had suffered profound mental and physical disabilities. Even though he was extremely disabled and non verbal he has truly only given my parents, myself and our whole family so much joy. They have dedicated the last 40 years to caring and giving Reuben the best possible life experience in every way. Reuben has always been able to receive in home care within our family. Growing up he went to the best special needs schools available, was able to have the best Doctors and was always around so much love at home. My parents were huge advocates and were always passionate regarding laws and injustices surrounding children of disability and equal disability rights causes. They constantly researched and implemented the best practices and care for Reuben. My mother was always creating and crafting special designs and tools to help further Reubens abilities to communicate, crawl and reach new milestones. My father lovingly and willingly would draft and build her designs. Together they have big dreams for their family.
Unfortunately in November/2023 little Reuben became extremely ill with an impacted colon and he was rushed to emergency surgery. He started the healing process in ICU but it has been discovered that his bowels have been completely paralyzed. Which is not uncommon long term with such a condition as his. They have tried different drugs, antibiotics and medications to get his bowels moving. After an intense surgery he soon caught pneumonia which further escalated his condition. The fluid in his body has no where to go and continues to build. Everyday his family has been at his side in the ICU advocating and assisting in his needs. We have sought many options and different opinions on his current condition.
On the 30th of November Reuben had to be shocked 4 times to be brought back to life. With the reality of him suffering the choice was made to make him as comfortable as possible in the ICU. We are comforted to have had him Baptized on the 1st of December and the Father mentioned to everyone in attendance that he will soon be a saint! We will soon have our own intercessor in heaven.
I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my parents. They are both elderly in their(80s) and with their own intense health conditions yet still have given so much to Reuben. Living on a fixed income in a state that is increasingly expensive has drained resources. Driving everyday to see Reuben is costly along with meals, occasional stays and just the cost of living has left them with very little to give a simple but important funeral (5-10k) and for Little Reubs plot(4k), headstone(1-2k) and basic expenses for my two elderly parents so that they don’t have to worry and suffer so much in every day life.
Our family is so grateful and privileged for the time we have been around and cared for such a pure love like Reuben it is something not many will ever get to experience in their lifetime.
Thank you for supporting our family during a sudden, tragic and heartbreaking time. We are dedicated to loving and caring for Reuben until the last moment that we get to have him. Thank you for being here with us.
