Help Sama, Sara, Bassam & Baby Deema Survive the War
Donation protected
Once carefree and full of dreams, my nieces and nephews have been thrown into fear and uncertainty due to the long war. For the last 8 months, chaos and destruction have shattered the innocence of their childhood. This fundraiser is dedicated to my nieces and nephews, who are the most precious things in my world.
INTRODUCTION
Hello, my name is Mohammed Bassam and my brother and I are English teachers from Gaza. I am currently in Cairo, Egypt, and my brother is still in Gaza with all my family. I am someone who has always believed in making the world a better place by educating my students and my society to embrace tolerance, peace and understanding.
I am making this fundraiser on behalf of my brothers who are displaced from their homes and trapped with their families in Gaza. For almost 8 months, their children have been enduring all kinds of horror. After just beginning to step out to the world to start their young lives, these little ones are living in rustic tents and facing extreme hardship.
Please allow me to introduce my nephews and nieces that I want to bring to Egypt to safety:
Sama ("Sky") – Age 8
Sama had started her educational journey almost 2 years before the war began. She is a bright and eager student who longs to continue her second year of school. She has always been so energetic. Sama is an aspiring young poet. She nudges the words out of her heart just like a butterfly travelling through the air. She used to write about her laughter with her friends. She has a sense of excitement, and she is so passionate about discovering new things; she never stops asking questions about whatever comes to her mind. As a kid, she is hopeful about having back what she once had for a very short period of her life.
Sara – Age 4
Sara grew up a year older this last June to become a 4 year girl. She learned to speak properly during the obnoxious war. She is passionate about drawing. She kicked off her journey of drawing at a very early age beginning from picturing her mama, papa and a very comfy house. Nowadays however she draws missiles and rubble. Sara never forgets the warmth of her home as she keeps asking her family innocently to take her back home. She is driven by her love for her toys and her room. Sara doesn't cease telling stories of her happy days. She longs for the day she goes back to her kindergarten class as she was only able to attend for a week.
Bassam – Age 4
Bassam had just started kindergarten, attending for a week before the war erupted. He once had a big toy car that he loved dearly, but now he has forgotten its color and everything about his toys. Despite this, Bassam’s spirit remains unbroken; he still manages to smile, a testament to his incredible resilience amidst such adversity. He has a hope that one day he can go back to class and start learning the very basics about how to read and write.
Deema – Age 8 Months
Deema recently began to crawl and touch things. She currently lives in a tent where safety and comfort does not exist. Her early experiences are filled with the sounds and sights of war, a stark contrast to the tranquility she deserves. Her father adores his new baby girl but feels completely helpless to provide her with any safety or security.

These are the precious children we are trying to save. Through your generosity, we can offer these children a chance at life outside the war. Please stand together with us and show them some love and empathy. We welcome large or small donations, as every little bit helps. Thank you in advance!
We are ready to offer further details, answer queries, and if needed, share documents to confirm the family's situation and urgency.
