My 23 year old cousin, Liviu Grosu, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer a month ago. He has spent the past year going to different doctors to try to find out why he was suffering with pain, insomnia and generally not feeling well. Finally, a month ago, Liviu was sent for a colonoscopy. What doctors thought was some sort of IBS, turned into our biggest nightmare. My sweet cousin was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.
LWhen he was 20 years old, he found an opportunity to start a new life in the United States of America. Two short years later, he is here, on his own, now facing This illness. He is virtually alone, (he is in Seattle and I am here in NYC) and faced with a terminal diagnosis of colon cancer. The doctors originally thought that it could be treated with surgery and chemotherapy. On October 25, the doctors made and attempt to surgically remove the cancer, during the surgery it became apparent that the cancer had progressed outside the colon and metastasized to nearby organs. They were unable to remove the tumor and have suggested starting chemotherapy to prolong his life. They are not hopeful for a cure.
He came here to the USA with such big hopes and dreams for a better life than he had as a child. Now, at the very young age of 23, still a child actually, he is faced with the fight of his life, with very little chance of the life he had dreamed of. I believe that this battle can be fought and won, with your help. Please help us give Liviu the chance to fight this cancer with as much hope and dignity as we can give him.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving Liviu a chance.
