Help Liz and Jared Deal With the V.U.S.

If you’re here, you likely already know that we at Bone Up Brewing have been involved in an ongoing dispute with our landlords and are being forced to close down (more on that here and also here ) with our last day of service scheduled for 12/31/23. We (Jared and Liz Kiraly) built this brewery from the ground up and have spent over seven years brewing awesome beers, fostering our local arts and music community, and transforming a once-forgotten part of Everett into a place full of joy and wonder or whatever. To have fought our way through the pandemic just to see the future slip through our fingers is absolutely gutting.

It turns out that situations like this tend to come with a not-insubstantial amount of legal fees (unfortunately, as the matter is still ongoing, there's not much else we can say on the legal side of things), among other things (apparently, going out of business is expensive). A number of you have reached out to us about wanting to help us out with this excruciating situation we're working through, and we always say that coming to the brewery is the best way to do that, but also we understand that's not always "physically possible" for some of you, so we set up this GoFundMe!

To be perfectly honest, we feel a little weird about outright asking for money (so don't feel obligated to contribute, especially if you're in a position to come to the brewery) but also we're not too proud to accept help when it's offered, so if you want to help defray the cost of our legal/other bills please donate what you can. Any amount is appreciated - thank you.

P.S. Just so we’re all super clear, this fundraiser is not to raise money for a move or a new location, it is to offset the costs of winding down our business and the legal fees associated with the Very Unpleasant Situation.
