Help Liz, Jeff & Family Rebuild After Eaton Fire

On the night of January 8th our dear friends Liz and Jeff, along with their kids, Ben and Avy, lost their home and all of their possessions in the Eaton Fire.

Their home was filled with irreplaceable items. Artwork made by their kids over fourteen years. Old family photographs. A tooth fairy note from Liz’s grandmother that she saved all these years. Nothing survived the fire.

They had no time to pack because of how abruptly and quickly things unfolded. They saw flames outside their windows and grabbed what they could and ran. They assumed they’d be gone for one night, maybe two. They could have never imagined that by morning their house would be reduced to a few bricks and half a gate.

Our hearts are breaking for Liz and Jeff who are shell-shocked and traumatized but also simultaneously putting on a brave face for their kids who just lost every single item from their childhoods. We can’t bring back their home. But we can help them start to rebuild!

As anyone who knows these guys already knows— this is one of the most loving and generous families you will ever meet. Their hospitality is legendary. They are famous for opening up their home to the many communities they belong to and making all feel welcome. Liz and Jeff would be— and have been— the very first people to show up if anyone else was in a crisis, big or small. These are the people who can always be counted on to help out. And now they need our help.

We know so many have been impacted by these tragic fires and it’s impossible to show up for everyone.
