Help Liz keep her home and get back on her feet!

Hi, my name is CJ Mantel and I'm raising money for my friend Liz Lamae. You may know Liz from any number of animal rescue and pet assistance organizations - she's one of the most caring folks I've ever known, from working in animal rescue, to helping low income families meet their needs so they can keep their animals with them, to just dropping everything when a costume designer friend needs help making a dozen ruffly little dresses for Annie (that one was me, personally). She's an election worker and a good egg, and she's in a really hard spot.

After becoming unable to work due to worsening symptoms, Liz had a couple of life changing diagnoses in 2021. Unfortunately, trying to get disability benefits in order to get treatment and get to a place where work might be possible has been an incredible challenge, and she is in danger of losing her home to foreclosure. While she has been dog sitting for a little bit of income, it's been nowhere near enough. She is working with some excellent community supports to hopefully find a roommate situation to make her monthly mortgage affordable while she sorts out her finances, but an immediate influx of cash is needed to stop cascading debt from building up.

Any funds raised will go to pay unpaid mortgage and utility debts. Should anything be raised beyond that (bless everyone), the rest will go to continue paying mortgage and possible attorney fees as she continues to work toward physical and financial stability.
