Help LJ Recover From a Devastating Phone Scam

Hi, my name is Linjing, and I’m reaching out for help after becoming a recent victim of a phone scam. Just a few days ago, I received a call from someone I believed to be from my bank, working alongside the police. They convinced me to follow a series of instructions to “protect” my money, but instead, I was deceived into loosing all of my savings to them.

In an instant, I lost all my savings. This scam has left me with nothing to cover my rent, bills, or daily living expenses. Worse, I now face debt due to actions I took under their manipulation. I applied for a £20,000 loan on their advice (thankfully, it was rejected), but they still managed to take out an overdraft in my name and spent £3,000 on my credit card. This has left my credit score in ruins, adding another layer of difficulty to an already dire situation.

Despite my efforts, my bank has informed me that there’s nothing they can do since I authorised the transactions, even though I was under misled, the fraud was especially manipulative, the scammer were using my private information, my family and friends to intimidating me, and extremely good at impersonation. I was under misled. Now, I’m left to bear this overwhelming burden alone.

Having lived on my own in the UK for 12 years, without family nearby, I’ve never felt so helpless and vulnerable. Asking for support isn’t easy, but I’m doing so because I truly need help to get back on my feet.

I’ve set the goal of this fundraiser to cover the losses from the scam, specifically the overdraft and credit card charges. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and help me take the first steps toward rebuilding my life.
