Help Local Heroes Save Their Town from Wildfire
Taylorsville, CA brothers Cody and Clancy Pearce with the help of their family, neighbor Travis Bloxham and other volunteers that have remained despite evacuation orders, have worked relentlessly around the clock since the evening of July 22nd to save their homes as well as all the homes within and immediately around their community from the Dixie Fire. The brothers have been using their own small fleet of water tenders to hose down structures, property, and roads to prepare for the oncoming Dixie Fire and to help prevent any property loss within Taylorsville. They are even watering gardens within town so that residents that evacuated will not lose their crops and will have something to come home to.
Cody, Clancy, and the Pearce family are doing this out of the kindness of their hearts and a sense of responsibility to the people and community that has helped raise generations of their family. They never hesitated in their response to one of California's largest wildfires in history bearing down on their small mountain town.
However diesel fuel that keeps their trucks running and their mission alive is not cheap. As the resident of one of the homes they are fighting to protect, I feel it is the least I can do to setup a fund for them to recover their losses while performing this exceptionally generous act. I know alot of the community members feel the same. If you feel compelled, please give what you can, no matter how much or how little. This family will have a very hard time taking any donations, but perhaps our own gratitude can convince them to accept at least a portion of what we can raise. It is my understanding, any extra generated past their operating cost will be donated to the Taylorsville Fire Department to show those brave volunteers that remain our gratitude as well.
