Help local Nicaraguan Baseball team Uniforms & Equipment
Donation protected
Our family is from Texas but now is in Nicaragua. We visited often over the last 10 years for surfing and decided we loved it here so much we would relocate. The town we are in is a very low-income fishing village. The kids in the town often start working at a very young age to help their families, and after necessity, there isn’t money to afford extra activities. Baseball is something that has brought these kids so much joy. They formed a team and with one bat, just a few gloves, and a very old catcher's mask, these kids have managed to bring an entire community together for afternoons of good wholesome fun. We have been able to get some gently used equipment and hope to get more, but it is difficult to bring a lot of things via airplane and shipping is extremely expensive. What the team wants so badly is to have uniforms. The purpose of this fundraiser is to be able to provide jerseys, hats, pants, and if we raise enough, to get them shoes would be amazing! If they get uniforms, they will be able to have more opportunities to play games. These are such great kids and beyond appreciative of every single thing anyone is willing to give.
