Help Lok Bahadur recover from cancer

Dear family, friends and kind hearted strangers

My name is Mina Chhetri and I started this GOFundMe to Support my mama (Uncle) Lok Bahadur Raya who is suffering from stage III Rectal Cancer.

Lok Bahadur Raya is 46 years old. He is currently residing at Kathmandu (Capital City of Nepal) but belongs to Goldhap )remote village of Nepal. He has a small family with a 12 year old daughter and his wife Bishu Rai who has been taking care of him and his daughter. The last 24 months have been a roller coaster of emotional, mental, financial, and physical challenges for our dear Lok and his family. His treatment has been going on at Nepal Cancer Hospital and research center Ltd. at Harisiddhi,Lalitpur.

He became uncomfortable for the first time about 2 years ago in Saudi Arabia where he was working as an unskilled manpower for the last 7 years. During his stay over Saudi Arabia he underwent colostomy surgery and received 30 # NART and 4 cycles of NACT.

Due to his declining health status he couldn’t continue his work and had to return to Nepal and his treatment started at teaching Hospital Maharajgunj, Kathmandu with high expectation of recovery. He had numerous cycles of chemotherapy and other treatment. During treatment Lok recovered and he started to do some household work and also started going to work for a couple of weeks in the hope that he could support his family and daughter's school fees as he is the only person to feed his family.

Certainly, he again fell sick and was admitted in Hospital where he was diagnosed with metastatic carcinoma on 15/5/2023. Since he has almost exhausted his options in Nepal, his treatment needs to be done out of the country (India) in the hope that different treatment would work. Bills have been increasing day by day Bishu is not able to manage the fund as all the savings and possible source of income where she could borrow from her relatives has been already utilized. This latest diagnosis has rocked Lok’s to his core and he desperately needs our help even though he won't ask. So I'm being the voice for him in the hope that we can really work together and take away some of the strain so he can fight against the diseases.

Bishu is seeking help from kind hearted donors that could help her financially with the remaining hospital bills and further treatment. Every single contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful impact on his journey towards recovery.
