Help Lo-Lo Move Forward

INTRODUCTION :

Hello! My name is J'Kerian (aka Lo-Lo) and I make music as Lotic. I am a Berlin-based, Houston-born musician. Since 2012 I have released several entirely self-produced EPs, two LPs, and have toured as a DJ as well.

I come here humbly asking for assistance in order to get back to my origins after temporarily losing my opportunities and convictions.

A BIT OF BACKGROUND :

Many of you probably know from following my journey online that things for me have been rough for quite a little while now. Even before the pandemic, I struggled a lot with my relationship to myself and to the music industry.

I started my medical transition in 2019 and then went straight into the pandemic, developing increasing levels of anxiety as many of us did.

These past few years saw me losing work, moving at least 12 times and consequently losing so many of my personal belongings (including very essential furniture) and personal relationships, and so many more traumatizing things that I'm not even sure

I'm ready to share publicly.

However, I've now moved past most of the mental hurdles that have held me back so far.

I have relocated my love for music and performance and I am creating again and I want to be able to offer my supporters an even exchange for any contributions they may be able to provide.

HOW I'M MOVING FORWARD AND WHY GOFUNDME :

My main goals behind this decision are returning to school to receive my Masters degree in music {tuition is €10.000} as well as pushing my creative energy to create and sustain my own work. Basically, I'm preparing for the long-term future after many months of being purely in survival mode. There are also a few more immediate and practical things that have fallen way behind, like visa (so i can get a more traditional job) and rent and medications/health insurance, among other daily needs, so the remainder would go to addressing those as well as finding new housing and replacing my mattress, etc.

I am extremely grateful for the help so far, and now that I have the energy to offer more, I'm going to do so.

IN CONCLUSION :

I am aware that some of these offerings may seem unusual or overly priced, but it has taken a very long time for me to even listen to much music, much less create it. These funds will go towards even further helping an artist get their confidence and stamina back, and I truly cannot wait to see your requests and get to work!
