Help Longy Hit Cancer For Six

Hello, we at the Corio Cricket Club have decided to rally around one of our own and help his fight to beat cancer. Life member and all round great bloke, Geoff Long has recently been diagnosed with bowel cancer and is in the fight of his life.

Longy is currently undergoing treatment at the Andrew Love Cancer Centre in Geelong and is unable to work whilst receiving treatment. We’ve decided to set up this page to help reduce some of the financial burden that Longy and Tara will now face.

Longy has been an integral part of our club for 30 plus years. Well known for his courage opening the batting, consistently facing some of the fastest bowlers our region has seen without the need for a lid. He almost carried our First XI to premiership glory in 1998 peeling off a half century at the top of the order. He’ll need every bit of his on field courage in this fight.

We’re asking for the entire Geelong community to get behind Longy and allow him and his family to concentrate on his treatment without the need of worrying about associated medical costs. Every dollar counts and we thank you for any donation that you can provide.
