Help Lonn get through open heart surgery

Hello Everyone,
I have recently been diagnosed with a congenital heart condition. I have bicuspid aortic valve stenosis, which requires immediate open-heart surgery to replace the defective valve. The prognosis is good, but I will be out of work for at least two months, maybe longer. I’m afraid missing so much work will push my finances to the absolute brink. In addition, there are many expenses related to medical care not covered by insurance. Unfortunately, there is virtually no safety net, especially as a single income widowed father.
It’s difficult for me to ask for help, but sometimes no amount of working, planning, or saving can prepare us for the cost of life’s unexpected circumstances. As some of you know, I’ve worked hard to get back on my feet after the loss of my wife in 2014. I have climbed back out of the nearly impossible abyss of grief and debt but once again find myself faced with a very sudden and unforeseeable financial challenge.
So I reach out to you, my wonderful community, for support through this difficult time. Anything and everything is deeply and profoundly appreciated. All proceeds will be put towards medical expenses and supporting my 11-year-old son Orion until I get back to work.
My surgery is scheduled for 2/3/22. Please hold Orion and me in your thoughts and prayers. I will hopefully keep this page updated as things progress.
Thank you,
Lonn
