Help Lonnie Beat Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Luke and recently my father Lonnie Dukes has yet again been diagnosed with cancer. Lonnie’s battle with cancer started in March of 2016 where he went through countless chemo and radiation treatments. My family continued to stand strong in our faith. In November, 2016, Lonnie was told that he was cancer free. It seemed that everything was going great. Lonnie and my mother just celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary in February. But unfortunately he started having problems again. After going to the doctor and having a PET scan done, the doctors told my family the thing we feared the most…..“Your cancer has returned” Lonnie was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer (stage 4) and unfortunately this time it has metastasized.
Everyone that knows Lonnie knows that he is dedicated to his family. He is doing his best to make sure that we keep life as normal as possible while he goes thru treatment. He is light-hearted, silly and loves nothing more than bringing a smile to everyone’s face. He is a thoughtful father, a loving husband, and a generous friend. Lonnie started chemotherapy and radiation on Monday. He completed three days of chemotherapy and will continue radiation for the next 18 days. Once that is completed he will begin chemo again. Our family has a long road ahead of us. Let us take this chance together as a community to rally around Lonnie and show our support. Any donations made will be used to help pay for medical expenses, medications, and to help my parents due to time missed from work. Lonnie and our family would appreciate your prayers. Lonnie means a lot to us, so lets all support him in the difficult times ahead.
