On January 10, 2024, our world was turned upside down. I received a call that would change our lives forever, the news that my husband had been in a horrific car accident as a pedestrian, and was on his way to the hospital—it felt like the ground beneath me vanished. Racing to the hospital, my mind swirled with fear, uncertainty, and an unimaginable dread. When I reached the hospital, the words hit me like a tidal wave – they weren’t sure he would make it through the night. In those agonizing moments, I prayed for a miracle. And, by some divine intervention, he survived. But the cost was heavy—his left leg, amputated below the knee, broken right leg, and his lung collapsed, he was in critical condition. I had never known such fear, such helplessness. The road to recovery stretches before us, as Jefferson has already endured several surgeries and countless more to come. Our lives have changed forever, I can only be grateful that our children will still have their father. For those unfamiliar with our story, we are a young, blossoming family with three beautiful children and one more on the way. The picture you see above was taken on New Year’s Eve, a snapshot of our happiness, blissfully unaware of the tragedy that awaited us. Now, we find ourselves reaching out, vulnerable and in need. As we navigate this storm, we ask for your help, your kindness, and your support. (For living expenses, and what ever is needed for the children and ourselves.) During this time of desperate need, we extend our hands, hoping for compassion. Every gesture, every offering, no matter how small, will go to helping support our family in our journey towards healing.
