My name is Loredana Vásquez. I am 30 years old, I’m from Araya, a small fishing village in Sucre, Venezuela. I am a senior technician in chemical processes and always on the lookout for personal and professional growth as the only financial resource for my family. My mother is an extremely hard-working housewife and my father is a fisherman. I am in awe of their humility and the sacrifices they made to ensure I got ahead in life.

My life was turned upside down a few days ago, I was diagnosed with rectal CANCER. Multiple evaluations, incorrect diagnoses, and severe pain have led to many absences from work and expenses have compounded on top of each other. The stress of trying to find funding for these evaluations has only worsened and accelerated my condition, and the poor condition of the Venezuelan economy brings

yet another level of complexity in getting

these evaluations. Oncological cases often wait months at the public hospital center level awaiting specialist intervention – months that I do not have.

I consider myself a very cheerful and positive person, so today I am choosing courage and using this life test to have faith that good can (and does) come from bad. I can’t do this without you though. Your Go Fund Me donation will help cover 4 cycles of chemotherapy sessions, medicine, radiation treatments, and surgical intervention consisting of a Derivative Colostomy to prevent intestinal obstructions during the process. Me llamo Loredana Vásquez, tengo 30 años, soy venezolana, de un pueblito de pescadores en el Estado Sucre llamado Araya, mi profesión es técnico superior en procesos químicos, me considero una persona muy alegre, siempre buscando oportunidades de crecimiento personal y profesional, con muchos planes de vida en función de apoyar a mi familia, pues soy su único apoyo económico, mi madre es una mujer luchadora, hace trabajos de ama de casa, y mi padre es un pescador, ambos muy humildes, pero lograron sacarme adelante con mucho sacrificio.

Hace pocos días la vida me cambió, fui diagnosticada con un Cáncer de Recto, luego de pasar por muchas evaluaciones, diagnósticos errados, dolores, y malestares que me debilitaron y tuve que ausentarme de mi trabajo, todo eso también incurrió en muchos gastos y debilitó mucho más mi situación por el estrés de buscar fondos para practicarme todos las evaluaciones que necesitaba. Pero hoy estoy asumiendo con valentía esta prueba de vida, porque de lo malo también se aprende, pero para que este camino a transitar sea más fácil necesito del apoyo de todos ustedes a fin de cubrir los gastos iniciales de mi tratamiento de quimioterapia (consta de 4 ciclos) y la intervención quirúrgica a la que debo someterme la cual consiste en una Colostomía Derivativa por un alto riego a sufrir una Obstrucción intestinal, no cuento con los recursos, y es difícil llevar una enfermedad oncológica en mi país, podemos pasar meses esperando en un centro hospitalario publico para ser intervenidos, y con estos casos críticos el tiempo es lo que tenemos en contra. Agradezco cualquier pequeño aporte, estoy segura que será retribuido con bendiciones, y cosas buenas para sus vidas.
