Hi my name is Thomas Contreras and the beautiful woman in the photo is my wife, Lorena Lopez Contreras. She is a grand mother of three handsome boys of 9 years old, 6 months and 2 months old and a wonderful person whose job as a caregiver until she decided to become a nurse was her goal and dream. She completed nursing school just before the pandemic which halted in her taking the board exam. She kept studying until late of May 2022. On the day of her exam she began to experience a bad pain in her abdomen. She completed the exam in pain and resulted that she failed her exam. On April 27, 2022 she was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer and has spread to her lungs. When the doctor told us of her diagnosis my heart sank thinking that she doesn't deserve this.

Since, I am the only income in our home,  finding affordable insurance for Lorena is expensive but I continue to look. The treatments for the chemotherapy will start in as little as in a week and that's also in the couple of hundreds every visit.

The doctors say there is no cure for her cancer and the chemotherapy is unfortunately for the rest of her life and time is running out for her. And even though it breaks my heart the doctors give her six months of life without treatment. And with God's will the chemotherapy will reduce the cancer and can have a chance at a longer life. So she needs insurance to start the treatments. I now face the task with arranging funeral plan's for her future and it isn't easy because it saddens me to even think of goin into a funeral place.
