Help Lorena With Relocation Costs

Hi Everyone,

I am excited to share that I recently accepted an incredible job opportunity in a new city and will need to move by March 11th, which is very soon! I’m asking for your financial support with relocation costs.

I was laid off in October of 2023 from a position after being there for only 4 ½ months. I relocated from NYC to DC to work with this organization and I paid almost $10,000 in relocation fees on my own. I did ask for relocation assistance, but they were not able to accommodate.

When I got laid off, I was only offered 2 weeks severance since I was a new employee. I advocated for myself and asked them for the full amount of severance given my unique situation. However, they denied my request. Since then, this relocation and the lay off has put a huge financial strain on me.

Even through this situation, I knew an opportunity that was right for me will open up, and it happens to be in a new city!
