Help Loretta fight cancer

Hi, my name is Tammy Steaveson, and I am fundraising for my twin sister Loretta Cook. My sister had been struggling with stomach pain for several months. After pleading with her doctor, a colonoscopy was done, and a mass was found. Three painful biopsies later, she received a stage three colorectal cancer diagnosis.

 

Last Monday, Loretta started chemo; She will have two types of chemo one requires her to be at the hospital for five hours, and the 2nd will be a portable chemo pump she takes home that last three days. she will do chemo and radiation simultaneously before she has surgery to remove the mass in six months.

 

Loretta is married and a mother of six kids (and six grandkids) two of which are

young boys ages seven and nine. She is the matriarch of her family. Her Husband Arthur was diagnosed with congenital heart failure and has not been able to work for the last two years. This started two years ago when he caught a virus Author is still on th mend and hoping to return to work as truck driver. Unfortunitly he has been fainting and the function of his heart has not gotten better.

 

Loretta has been working 70+ hours a week as a CNA to support her family. She also has been a full-time college student at Buena Vista University. My sister is two semesters away from graduating with her bachelor's. I am so proud of My sister and her accomplishments. My sister and her husband are two of the most hard working people I know.

Loretta has not thought about the fact that she will need to take time off of work. She is worried about how she will be able to continue to work to support her family, which is why I am creating this fundraiser. I would like to help relieve some of the financial burden for Loretta so she can focus on fighting cancer. The funds will go straight to Loretta to help pay for her cost of living such her rent and utilities.

Unfortunitly I live in Pennslyvania and my sister is in Iowa. I have been staying with her family since March 9th and I leave in a couple of days on April 6th. She does not have family in Iowa which makes the situtation harder for all of us.
