Help Lori during her during her accident recovery

*Update: Carole Murriello is my mothers mother, my grandma. Since they live together we decided she would manage the funds raised for my mom while in the healing process. I just didnt want anyone confused here, because the front page of this fundraiser is stating both names (we added carole as beneficiary for the bank routing)! The money raised then goes straight to Lori Giattino.
This the story of my mom, Lori Giattino and a tragic injury that has led me to post this.
On Jan 16, Greenville SC was hit with a snow storm that kept my mom from going to work for a couple of days. On Jan 18th, she attempted to get to her job where she works as a nurse in a rehabilitation facility. Tragically she slipped and fell on the ice resulting in multiple broken bones (hip, femur and shoulder). She was taken by ambulance to the hospital and surgery was done the next day. She underwent a complete hip replacement, pins in her femur and her shoulder was manipulated with the hope that it will heal without the need for future surgery.
Sometimes situations occur in life in which we say it was just “wrong timing”. This is one of those situations. You see the job she was trying to get to she had only started 6 weeks before and her health insurance is not yet effective. Now with her not working (we are praying that she will not be “terminated” since she is in a probationary period) she cannot pay the premiums that would come due in March. Thus leaving her without insurance to cover necessary therapies, hospital services, xrays and other mounting medical expenses. She is also without income to meet critical expenses like medications, food, utilities. This heartbreaking situation is compounded by the fact that my elderly grandmother, who is health compromised and also on limited income, lives with my mom. Savings accounts have been depleted and here we are.
We have applied for local and state assistance, but now are in a holding pattern praying for approval.
It is my deep hope and wish to see our community and beyond come together to aid my mother Lori during this time of immense distress and unfortunate instability.
If we can reach our goal it will provide enough income for her to pay her medical premiums, medical co-insurance for ongoing treatments ( when her insurance becomes effective), maintain the current home for her and my grandmother, and cover medically necessary therapies and medications and allow her to heal with peace of mind.
All donation amounts are endlessly appreciated and valued. In addition to your financial generosity we are relying on this fundraiser to reach people beyond our immediate family and friends. Please help by us sharing this post on social media, DMs, PMs, snail mail or email, community groups, church or work. Any exposure can help!
In addition if you would like to reach her via a get well card or note please message me at [email redacted].
We appreciate you all with love and gratitude.
Gratefully,
Jennifer
