Help Lori in her Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
On Thursday, January 13th, my Mom began her day just like any other. As she pulled into the driveway of the Middlesex YMCA, preparing for another day at work, she noticed something was off. Her speech was labored and her left hand felt numb. She called her doctor to explain her symptoms. They immediately sent her across the street to the Middlesex Emergency Room. Here, she got her first of many head scans.
After the doctors received the results, they found a blood clot on the right side of her brain. My Mom was having a stroke.
She was rushed by ambulance to the Hartford Hospital for an immediate surgery to remove the clot.
After a successful surgery, she was closely monitored in the Intensive Care Unit receiving the best care possible. However, even with an incredible team of doctors, stroke recovery specialists, and a constant stream of at home physical & occupational therapy, the road to recovery has been very hard on her. With the many uncertainties and several other unanticipated visits to the emergency room, the past few months have been tough.
I have created this Go Fund Me for my sweet, loving and hardworking Mom in an effort to assist with her ongoing medical expenses. We are extremely blessed that she is making daily progress towards recovery. However, this is a life-changing event for her with a long road ahead and two additional surgeries in the near future. We are grateful for donations, good thoughts, and prayers for her recovery.
