Help Lorina Battle COVID-19!

Donation protected
My sister-in-law, Lorina, needs help!  She's a single mother of a 10 year old daughter, living in Florida.  We are up in Illinois and can't go down and help them in person because of the pandemic.  Like many of us, she hasn't been able to work because of the virus, but that didn't stop corona from getting to her.  She contracted the virus a few weeks ago.

(Here we are enjoying dinner at Nick's Pizza and Pub when Lorina and her daughter visited last year.)

However, because she didn't want to be a burden (typical Lorina!), she didn't tell us.  She tried to nurse herself back to health, with her daughter doing her best to help without catching it herself.  It wasn't until one day when her daughter was talking to Grandma & Grandpa that she happened to mention that Lorina was sick.  And wasn't getting better.  We found out on a Saturday, and by the next Tuesday she was in the hospital.  Turns out her asthma was making it harder for her body to fight off the infection.  She was in bad shape!

(Lorina adopted her daughter 10 years ago ... aren't they they cutest?!  It's amazing how much they look alike!)

While Lorina was in the hospital, their friend and neighbor kept an eye on her daughter, but they, too, had to be careful because they had just recovered from a milder case of the virus.  Grandparents and cousins took turns talking to her on FaceTime to keep her company.

Lorina struggled to recover, even with the help of many liters of oxygen.  At first, she didn't even have enough strength to roll over in bed so the nurses had to constantly turn her to keep bed sores from developing.  We spread the news and asked for prayer.  The doctors were worried that she'd be in the hospital for a couple of months, but through good care and prayer, she was able to return home after just two weeks.  However, she still needs to be careful and take it easy.  We don't want a relapse!

Here's where Lorina needs your help.  By not being able to work for the last few months, bills have been piling up.  And because she is self-insured, she has a doozy of a deductible to boot.  Can you help?  A little or a lot, it all adds up.  We would greatly appreciate any assistance you'd be willing to give her, and I know she will be forever grateful.  And even if you can't afford to help financially, please send up a prayer for her and her daughter.  Thank you!
