Help Louis Rivera Recover

Dear Neighbors,

This past January our doorman Louis Rivera was involved in a serious road accident with a truck while riding his electric scooter.  He suffered a lot of trauma and has a fractured spine which required a month long stay in the hospital followed by several weeks at an in-patient physical therapy center.  Thankfully he has been released and is recovering back at home but the slow process of continued rehabilitation will be long and costly.   We were recently made aware that his insurance coverage through the doorman’s union is limited due to the fact that the accident was not job related resulting in a lack of funds for the therapies he now requires.  The ongoing expenses for proper care plus other necessities like walkers and therapy equipment in conjunction with the loss of income is making this a difficult time for Louis and his wife.  
We are creating this GoFundMe page so that residents of 257 CPW can offer some financial assistance for his recovery and to show our appreciation for Louis who has always been hard working, dedicated individual within our building community as well as a friend to many.    We hope that we can come together in a time of need to really help someone who has helped us so much over the years.  Our fundraising goal is $7,500 so please give what you can to help Louis get through this very difficult period and provide him with the means to make a full recovery!  All donations go directly to Louis!
