Help Louise (Lulu) Bilodeau fight Multiple Myeloma
Donation protected
Louise (Lulu) Bilodeau is a bright light in our community, celebrated Maine artisan, and a mother to two daughters who love her dearly.
Lulu has recently been diagnosed with a form of blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma. As a community we are coming together to raise funds for Lulu to help financially support her while she is unable to work and to help with extensive expenses.
Lulu will be traveling to Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston to begin her treatment in early December. Because Lulu is in the early stages of her diagnosis, the extent and duration of treatment is unknown. Another unknown is how long Lulu will be out of work during treatment. As many of you know, Lulu is self-employed as a full time potter and as a self-employed artist, she does not have the benefit of disability insurance.
Lulu and her family are very hopeful that because her cancer was found early, her doctors will be able to help her beat the odds so that she can live a long and fulfilling life. There are cutting edge medical advancements that have shown promise in changing this cancer from being fatal to a managed condition. In the meantime, we are coming together to support our beloved friend and artist at this difficult time.
