Help lovely Zia move to the US to start their PHD

My name is Taha and I'm doing this gofundme on behalf of my good friend and sibling Zia X. They were accepted to do a funded PhD at Rice University in Houston, TX, but they are struggling with the costs involved in moving there to set themselves up.
We're all going to miss Zia showing up and cutting shapes at all the queer parties, always bringing immaculate vibes, so that's why I wanted to give them a smooth and stress-free sendoff (as much as possible anyway). There's no pressure to add to this fundraiser if you're financially struggling yourself, but Zia's birthday is coming up (May 5th), and if you wanted to buy them a drink or get them a present, it would be a great idea to chuck something in this pot instead. Any amount is greatly appreciated and would be a load off their mind.
Below is a rough breakdown of some of the costs involved in moving to the USA (including a dental procedure they want to do in the UK, as it will be prohibitively expensive on the other side of the Atlantic.):
- University Registration Fees: £524.24 (approx.)
- Medical Insurance: £690.91 (approx.)
- Housing deposit + admin fee: £370.42
- Visa (F-1) fees: £406.27
- Flights: £550-£1500 (??? highly variable, but those represent the cheapest I found, at different times)
- Dental bridge: £282.80
- Gofundme transaction fees: @3% means we need an extra ???
Any extra money raised will go towards:
- Paying for extra baggage or for shipping, to get their belongings out there
- Buffer for the first month, in case anything goes wrong (the university is slow to pay, for example)
- Unexpected costs/fees
- Costs Zia has inevitably forgotten about and will be entirely surprised by
- A better replacement tooth
