Help Lovern Kindzierski to Continue Working
Whether you know Lovern's name or not, if you're a fan of graphic novels you have been impacted by his work.
In 1991 Lovern co-founded the company Digital Chameleon.
The book colouring and inking studio based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, built up countless credits for a variety of publishers, and are attributed with being the first studio to make the use of the computer software program Adobe Photoshop widespread in the comics industry.
When Digital Chameleon closed its doors in 2003, Lovern continued with his solo career in the industry.
Unfortunately, any career in the arts has the tendency to become unstable and over the years the fluctuations have now left Lovern in a state where he must declare bankruptcy.
While this will help him in some areas, it will be detrimental in many others, the most important being his ability to finance a new computer so he can continue working.
At this time his computer which he's had for the last 11 years is on its last legs, and past repairs, making it difficult for him to manage his day-to-day workload. It is just a matter of time before he cannot work at all.
This is where you come in -
My name is Holly Kindzierski and I am Lovern's daughter, and I am asking for you to contribute in even the smallest way if you are able to help Lovern maintain his ability to create the comics you have grown up with; the comics that you enjoy to this day.
I understand this is a tough time for everyone with what's going on in the world, but the arts are a help to many in these dark days, keeping us smiling and letting us escape if only a little to a different world where our own problems are not so prevalent.
Even if you can donate $5 to this cause, Lovern (and I!) will be so grateful.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
-Holly
