We are heartbroken to share this update on our Lucas. Please read these words from his mother and know our hearts are with his family. Please help them lay their sweet Lucas to rest:
It is with inconsolable grief I share the physical death of our only son, our precious boy, Lucas Smith, 38 years, from cancer, this day, February 24, 2025 at 5:54pm at his home in Fort Myers, FL.
I cannot even explain how crushed I am. Many know his terrible story of multiple near death experiences, Satan constantly trying to kill him, one including being shot in the Aurora, CO theater shooting which transformed his personality into severe paranoia PTSD which tormented him literally daily until he died.
As he was dying in my arms and surrounded by his sisters and dad, bil and friend, in his literal last breaths, he verbally professed aloud to us all the great confession of faith that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God and I accept Him as my personal Lord and my Savior.” It was a reaffirmation of a truth in his life hidden for years. We are all beyond happy for this Light in the midst of this dark season …
There’s no doubt in any of this that the real Lucas spoke professing Christ as you could literally see his face change even his eyes! Truly Glory to God! but I still want my boy back in the land of the living… crushed
“The Lord give and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
-Job 1:21b

Memo: in memory of Lucas
He’d be honored by this. Thank you very kindly. Thank you for loving our son, a gift from God to us all.
We love you, dear Lucas. You were a friend to all and the human we wish we could have kept here with us on this physical plane.
You're forever on our hearts.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Friends, family, humans: one of our brightest lights is in need of our immediate help.
Stage 4 Cancer has struck one of the most magnificent people any of us have ever met.
Our kind, smart, articulate, giving, funny, patient, warm, tenacious, determined, curious, and life-loving friend Lucas was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Testicular Cancer three months ago. He is uninsured and at the bottom of his financial barrel.
He needs our help. Our financial help. And fast. He started his chemotherapy journey today, September 4, 2024, and obviously cannot work to support himself. He not only needs money for medical bills but also for everyday things like rent, power, water, food, and his car payment so he can get to and from chemo.
Please watch his video, I implore you with all my heart. He explains better than any of us can. You'll notice, if you knew him prior to the diagnosis, that he is markedly changed. 6'2", 190 lbs, and healthy three months ago - 6'2" and 130 lbs today.
But my hope is that you won't look away, and even more so, if you're able, that you donate. Money will help keep him alive in that he will be able to continue to afford treatments. And if you can't donate, please... PLEASE SHARE.
I could continue to explain and implore all day, but more than anything, I want you to know that the world needs our Lucas in it. Period.
And he deserves a full life. And I look forward to seeing what he does with it.
My hope holds me together but your help will hold him together.
Please donate. Whatever you're able. Whatever your heart feels is right. No donation is too small or too big.
