Help Lucia Represent Team BC at Canadas Bouldering Regionals
Donation protected
My daughter, Lucia, has been pouring her heart and soul into her passion for bouldering, and her hard work is paying off. Recently, she competed in a Provincial Bouldering competition with Sport Climbing British Columbia (SCBC) in Richmond, where she placed an impressive 11th in the province. This achievement has earned her a coveted invitation to represent Team BC at the upcoming Canadian Bouldering Regionals in Winnipeg on April 26th and 27th!
Lucia is 15 years old and competes out of The Hangout in Duncan, located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. She has been honing her skills and gaining valuable experience by competing in bouldering competitions at gyms across Victoria, Langford, Duncan, Nanaimo, Courtenay, Campbell River, Port Coquitlam, and Richmond. As a proud member of the Hangout Competitive Youth Climbing Team, her dedication has been recognized by SCBC. After placing 11th at Provincials, SCBC invited her to compete at Regionals as one of 14 Youth B girls from BC. The event, hosted by Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC), is a crucial stepping stone for Lucia, as a high placing at Regionals could qualify her for Nationals later this year in Vancouver.
The funds raised will go directly toward supporting Lucia’s journey by covering essential expenses, including:
Travel: Securing the most cost-effective transportation to Winnipeg, whether by car, bus, or plane.
Accommodations: Arranging safe and affordable lodging for Lucia, her mom Zoe, and her older brother Winter.
Meals: Planning nutritious, budget-friendly meals during the road trip and stay in Winnipeg.
Coaching: If funds allow, providing additional support for her dedicated climbing coach, Keiran, who has played a significant role in her progress.
While I, Sheldon Nedelec, continue to work to support our family, my wife, Lucia, Winter, and Keiran will be making this exciting journey. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings Lucia one step closer to representing our province with pride and chasing her dreams on a national stage.
Thank you so much for your support and for being a part of Lucia’s journey to the top!
