Help Lucifur Get Back on His Paws: Diabetic Care Support

Lucifur - the 11 year old cat formerly known as Prince, spent almost an entire year in the Gunnison Valley Animal Welfare League Shelter with his orange bonded partner in crime Loki, before suckering me into taking them both home in June 2023. Lucifur has been the life of the household, demanding belly rubs from anyone who dares enter and providing countless hours of love and nearly suffocating 18 pounds of cuddles. One of Lucifur's favorite activities has been subjecting my downstairs neighbors to what I can only imagine sounds like small earthquakes -sprinting from one end of my apartment to the other joyfully antagonizing his brother Loki.

Recently, Lucifur had a costly dental that required removing his two large fangs and a number of his other teeth. Since the dental Lucifur has been struggling to eat, play, or even cuddle. He has been diagnosed as a Type 2 Diabetic and requires two shots of insulin twice a day with his meals. As you might imagine, he has not been thrilled with being stabbed twice a day without explanation, and has since developed an aversion to eating and is experiencing pain/weakness in his hind quarters leading to liter box issues.

I love these cats with my entire heart and desperately want to be able to keep Lucifur and Loki together as a double trouble package. I believe separating them would negatively impact both cats, and myself. I do not want to give up on caring for my cats, but I do not have the funds as a recent college graduate to maintain all of Lucifur's vet bills on top of my own housing/bills/student loan costs.
