Help Lucy Get Her SIXTH Surgery

Hey friends. Mandie and I are getting married in less than 48 hours and we couldn’t be more excited!

In the midst of all the last-minute craziness of planning a wedding, our beloved cat Lucy, a 5-time foreign body obstruction surgery survivor, started exhibiting all the signs that we know all too well. She had surgery 3 weeks ago and two months before that after going years without incident. We can’t believe it appears to be happening again.

This morning we took her to the emergency vet and they performed an ultrasound and confirmed there is something there obstructing her bowels and intestines. They’re not sure if it’s staples from the last surgery or a new “thing” lodged in there.

Every time this happens it costs nearly $8,000. We’ve been fortunate enough to have had pet insurance this entire time (thank god!), which covers 80% of pretty much everything.

Unfortunately, Lucy has literally maxed out our insurance, which was once unlimited but is now capped at $10,000 a year. We have since purchased secondary coverage but have no confirmation that this will work yet until we pay and submit a claim.

We can’t imagine making the choice to let Lucy go since she’s otherwise a happy and healthy cat and even in these situations she barely seems bothered.

We love her so much and don’t mind spending the money to help her, but with the wedding expenses and then 3 of these cat incidents happening in such rapid succession, we are strapped for cash and could use a hand.

We’re asking for what I was just charged for today’s recent - $7,175 + the initial $750 for the ultrasound and emergency fee.

Anything you can contribute would be seriously appreciated. If the secondary insurance gamble does come through we will refund all the money that insurance gives us back to you.
