Help Luigi’s

Hi, my name is Crystal Hockema, I own Luigi’s Italian Sandwiches in the Empire District of Coos Bay Oregon. On the early morning of October 28, 2021, I received a call from the Coos Bay police department informing me that the back door to my restaurant had been kicked in and they needed me to come down. When I arrived, the backdoor was wide open and the police inside looking around with flashlights. They greeted me at the backdoor , telling me not to touch anything and inquiring if I had anything of value they should be looking for. I stated the obvious…. the cash register, tablets, drills, etc. I told them that I'm pretty careful, and keep my stuff locked away in my safe. And in my mind…. I thought no way could they know the combination, too loud to break into without notice, and way too heavy to move. The officer then says to me…”you have a safe”? That moment brings me to this moment. Without help, i will fall. I had been saving cash money for the last 3 years so i could pay my taxes, my bills, and for the unexpected. They took my personal currency collection, my jewelry, my families birth certificates, our social security cards, our spare keys, my kids’ first tooth, our car titles, check books, gift certificates, laptops, etc. All in the safe. I was wrong, these thieves are professional pieces of sh*#z. They took only the safe. This has devastated me, both financially and emotionally. I thought buying this restaurant was gonna make a difference for me. Thats until i owned it a month before the devastating pandemic. Not having financials from the prior year, i had nothing to show for losses. I would be denied financial help, so i knuckled down and have been doing my best. Anyway, there goes my pride.
