Help Luis Perez during this difficult time
Donation protected
Hi everyone, as some of you know my brother Luis Perez Jr. was in a very serious car accident early Monday morning January 3, 2022. Around 4:00 A.M my mom Estefana Rodriguez received a call from my brother saying he was in a accident and he needed to call 911… he reassured us he was fine… No, he was not under the influence of any alcohol or drugs. He was trying to make it to work in the morning as he was returning from his vacation in Minnesota. At first we were hopeful thinking it wasn’t a serious accident. Sooner or later our point of views were changed. My brother was airlifted from the scene to San Angelo Hospital where we soon found out he had many broken bones including his leg, arm and ribs. With many fractures among that as-well with internal bleeding in his fat blood tissue in his stomach. Then he was airlifted from San Angelo to San Antonio hospital and has been in ICU sedated since. Recently they found out how to stop the internal bleeding but his immune system is very weak and has a bacterial infection in his lung that has now grown which lead them todo a ECMO on him which is our last resort… he cannot breath on his own currently and is fighting for his life. It has only been a week since the accident but we are now realizing the financial hardship he will go through and his girlfriend Cortney. Luis will have many procedures after this if his ECMO is successful…. He will be hospitalized for a while.
A update 01/12/2022
Luis’s ECMO was successful but we are now having a serious problem. Luis has swelling on his brain… we just have to trust the doctors and nurses working 24/7 with my brother. We want to thank everyone who has donated and who has shared. Please continue to pray for my brother. My mom wanted to to thank everyone also, seeing everyone coming together for us really is amazing. Please continue to keep Luis in your prayers. He’s still fighting…
My brother is one of the most driven people I know he has worked hard for everything and loved his job. He is the Regional Fire Coordinator for the Texas A&M Forest Service South Branch. He has helped fight fires all over Texas and California! He loved the adrenaline rush of helping others. From pulling over to helping people when they have a flat tires to always being the first one to help me out during a hard time. We are setting up a gofund me to help him during this difficult time with financial expenses because the hospital did inform us that it will be a very long recovery process…knowing my brother might not be the same person moving forward kills me anything will help during this time. We don’t know how Luis is going to be physically after this we don’t know what tomorrow holds but right now what we do know is he’s still here and he’s fighting.
Anything will help, just to remember to stay safe and we do appreciate everything everyone has done for us.
