Help Luke rebuild "Crust Mechanical Repairs"

Hi, my name is Gemma, and I am the sister in law to Luke Crust, the owner of Crust Mechanical Repairs.

 

On Sunday (27/02/22) “Crust Mechanical Repairs” owned by Luke Crust at Wilston went entirely under water from the Brisbane floods. The water level was up to the roof at the back of Luke’s workshop and the office completely submerged. Never has the water level reached that height since 1974. Even after moving almost everything up to higher ground & on hoists, it still didn't escape the floodwater.

 

Absolutely every tool, every piece of equipment and 14 cars were submerged in deep water mixed with engine oil; most are damaged beyond repair. As you can imagine the damage is immense, the clean up is enormous, not to mention all the repairs to get his business up and running again.

 

Luke Crust has been operating his family-run business in the Wilston/ Newmarket area for close to a decade. He has always been the person to offer his time and expertise to his loyal customers and the community and has been heavily involved in many charity events across Queensland over the years. Luke is always the guy to lend a hand and never expect anything in return. Just one of those true Aussie nice blokes.

 

Unfortunately, due to his Wilston location, he is not covered for flood insurance. The repairs and replacement equipment will be well into the tens of thousands of dollars. Luke has had to close his business to clean up the mess and is unsure at this stage when he will reopen- hopefully soon.
