Help Luke pay for EMT training!

Hey everyone! As many of you know I chose to spend my summer in California as a summer camp counselor. While this has been a lot of fun, I am now turning my current focus towards the future.

I’ve always wanted to become an EMT. I was taking a course in the Spring at GCC but was forced to withdraw due to medical reasons. Now, a few months later, I have an exciting opportunity to take an EMT/ Wilderness EMT month-long intensive in Wyoming.

If I attend the course, I plan to become licensed in Colorado and work at the local AMR while in school. Then i’ll obtain my license in Massachusetts and continue to work at the Williamsburg Fire Department on call as a volunteer.

The only thing holding me back from taking this course is the cost. Unfortunately these courses cost a lot of money, or at least much more than I have. While I have received a partial scholarship from the program, I am still about $2000 short.

Throughout my time in High School, I raised around $15,000 for charity on my own as well as approximately $25,000 with Liam Reynolds. I graduated with well over 300 community service hours. I’ve always been one to give back to my community. I hope to continue this through my work as an EMT.

After my 4 years of undergrad, studying Neuroscience (pre-med), political science, and photography, I hope to attend Medical School where I will train to become a Trauma Surgeon. Becoming an EMT is just a step in this long journey, but a crucial step, as it will allow me to learn a lot about the field and patient care before I am hopefully able to attend Med. School.

Helping people has always been something I am found of doing. From charity work, becoming a Junior Firefighter, to just allowing a friend/peer to have a listening ear, I always try to be there for everyone. Being an EMT will allow me to continue my journey of helping people through a much more important lense.

I am asking for donations to help fund my place in the course. UnfortunatelyI am on a time-crunch. The course begins in less than two weeks and the money I need to fund is due on July 11th, only 5 days from posting this (July 6th).

Any amount will help and is greatly appreciated. 100% of donations will be going towards EMT course tuition at the NOLS Wyss Campus. If I am unable to raise the money needed, all donations will be returned.
