Help Lydia Hanna Fight Cancer

My name is Jason Hanna I reside in Wichita, Kansas. I have started this fundraiser for my sister Lydia Hanna. Below you will see her journey.

I live and work in Nassau, Bahamas. I have worked in the healthcare system since graduating high school. I began my career in a government hospital, then moved to a private clinic working as a Phlebotomist, where I drew blood so patients can get their blood analyzed or get healthcare.

In 2019 just before COVID peeked its ugly head, the doctor who owned the clinic where I worked died and that clinic closed its door and I lost my job with all my health benefits. I was able to attain part-time employment, as a result of working only part time I lost my ability to pay for my health insurance; after contributing to it for 18 years. After working for two years part-time I was finally hired full-time. As part of the process for healthcare in the Bahamas I received a physical, at that time it was discovered that I had a lump in my breast. This made me ineligible to attain insurance coverage due to this new found condition. Now I’m at a loss, and don’t know how I will acquire the funds to pay for this absorptive amount of money for medical bills.

I was diagnosed with stage (3) three breast cancer on September 25, 2023. It has been recommended that I begin chemotherapy as soon as possible. I finally received my port on Saturday November 4, 2023. All the funds raised will be used to start and continue medical treatment. I was informed that I would need to complete four (4) treatments/infusions at $11,000.00 each with two (2) additional medications at $6,000.00 that will be needed; plus an additional $25,000.00 for a double mastectomy. totaling $75,000.00.
