Help Lydia recover from injury financial hardship

On December 5th, our dear friend Lydia accidentally rode her bicycle onto a patch of black ice on her way to work. When she crashed, she suffered a shattered wrist. Since then, she has remained out of work and keeping her arm immobile and elevated all day. She is having emergency surgery on 12/19 and recovery time is expected to be about three months before she can return to her job. This loss of wages, on top of her medical bills, will be the greatest financial and physical hardship that she's ever been faced with. There's no exact dollar amount of how much this accident will have cost her in the end, but more than any working class individual should have to pay for a commute-related freak accidet.
