Help Lyn & Alan Stratton rebuild their home

Hi my name is Jodie, and I am raising funds to help my Mum & Dad rebuild their home.

In the early hours of Tuesday the 1st March (which happens to be my Dad's Birthday), they were safely evacuated by boat from their home in Woodurn, New South Wales.

There was no time to save anything; they left with a change of clothes and some toiletries.

They spent the previous day lifting valuable items 1 meter above the worst flood level on record only to have that record smashed, all their possessions lost, and their homes engulfed in floodwater.

They are currently "sleeping" on a concrete floor at the local school with some toiletries and one change of clothes.

At 74 & 72, they should be retiring and enjoying life, not rebuilding it.

For those that know my parents, you will understand the devastation for our family. My Mum and Dad have worked all their lives and volunteered many of those with the local SES. I appreciate that so many people are in need, and my Mum and Dad would never ask for a handout. I think it's time for us to look after them.

So many wonderful friends have offered to donate food, clothing, linen, etc. We are genuinely grateful; however, it's hard to know what they need until the water goes down.

We know they won't have power for a while, and they will need to replace all their furniture & white goods. They will also need to gut and rebuild the entire second floor of their home.

Rather than accept donations of items they have nowhere to store, I ask if you would like to donate any money you can spare so my Mum & Dad can replace items and rebuild after the massive and all-consuming clean-up has been completed.
