Support Lyndsey's Double Lung Transplant Journey
My sister, Lyndsey, is a 34 year old woman who is married and has children. She has battled a chronic lung disease her entire life and spent many weeks in and out of the hospital growing up. She never let this disease stop her from achieving her dreams of going to nursing school and raising a family. Lyndsey is one of the most selfless people I have ever known, and I am honored to call her my sister.
Over the years Lyndsey has followed Pulmonary doctors at the University of Kentucky hospital for management and treatment. Recently, she and her family were informed the disease has progressed and a double lung transplant will be required in the future. She has met with the transplant team for the first time this week and she was made aware of all the extensive testing she will need to go through in the next six months. They explained that they aren't sure if the transplant will be required in 1 year or 2 years but they do know it is required. They also suggested my family begin fundraising for all the testing, transplant and medication cost.
We ask that first and foremost, you keep Lyndsey and our family in your prayers. We firmly believe that God hears every prayer and that He will be right beside her as she continues this battle. We pray that a donor is found at the right timing and that God will guide the transplant team and surgeons. If you're able to donate to this fund, the money will help cover the cost of the extensive testing she will soon face and for the transplant and medication cost. Although Lyndsey (and her husband, Brad) work very hard, insurance will only cover a percentage of the total cost. Every dollar helps!
I will update as we go through this journey with Lyndsey. Thank you for your love and support.
