Help Lynetta's Twin Boys Have a Good Christmas
How do you respond to a cry for help?
On Sunday, September 8, 2024, my best friend Lynetta Carathers earned her heavenly wings, and even though it was too soon for us, God said that day was her day. This beautiful soul had twin boys, not just children but children she had prayed for for years! To know her is to know that her two boys were her whole life! She protected them with all of her heart and soul. Unfortunately, this morning, even though she couldn’t protect them from the pain that would be her last day with us, she cried out to them for help. They answered their mother with all the love a child could give and immediately called 911. It is with a broken heart that I must tell those who loved her as much as we did that she passed away immediately from a heart attack, but we didn’t know it until we arrived at the hospital.
Her sons called me as soon as the paramedics took their mother away; I heard their cry for help and answered just as they had. Those boys are now young men who just turned 17 on August 28th. We were in so much shock when arriving at the hospital to hear that she had died; just like that, our dear, sweet Lynetta was gone. There is no greater love than a parent and child, and if one loses the other, the pain must be indescribable! I left a part of my heart in that small conference room on Sunday morning as I looked at the pain in her boys' eyes, I couldn't bring their mom back but I
could and would be their for them! Lynetta asked me while pregnant with her twins if I would be their godmother if anything ever happened to her; when asked, I don't think that we believed anything would ever happen, but it could, and it did. My friend of 25 years passed away and left her sons in their 12th-grade year; if there were any way in the world for her to stay, she would have!
I will never forget when she found out that she was pregnant! We all celebrated with her, and we all celebrated with God's love! Her prayers had been answered; if anyone deserved children, it was Lynetta. Her love was limitless for them. She was a wonderful mom! And we love her.
I am blessed to have my godsons in my life. I will honor her request as if these young men came directly from me. Clearly, it was God’s plan, and His plan is my plan!
Today, the fog is clearing, and I need help to keep my promise to her: I will finish her race and carry the parenting baton across the finish line for my dear friend! With that, it is my turn to seek help from those who feel called to contribute.
Her sons need their village of adults to reach out today and help in any way they can. Even if you do not know her, I pray that the needs of her children will still touch your heart enough to help. I cry out to every person reading this to please give and share on your pages and at your jobs. Any and every cent will help me care for her sons.
Please help us.
Thank you so much, and may God bless you for
caring enough to read and donate.
