Help Lynn Rebuild After Devastating Theft

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lisa Moracco. I’m starting this fundraiser for my friend, Lynn, whose world was turned upside down when thieves broke in and committed over $40,000 worth of damage and theft. Lynn's friend, Kari, wrote the following;
On Monday, October 7, Lynn Szabo drove up the driveway of the Trumansburg house where she has lived her entire life. Her parents bought the house in 1954 and over the years Lyn has added a big barn to hold her woodworking tools and equipment. Arriving that morning with a big stack of wood, Lyn planned to spend the next few months turning it into furniture and shelves that she donates to people in need. It’s a labor of love, and people all over T-burg and beyond have benefitted over the years from Lynn's generosity and kindness. When I got married 20 years ago, she gave me a beautiful bookshelf handmade from a big tree that had grown in her yard. That bookshelf still holds all the children’s books for my three kids.
As she pulled into her yard, Lynn knew something was terribly wrong. All the barn doors were open. Her two Labradors jumped out of the truck and started to bark. When Lynn rounded the corner of the barn and saw inside, she fell to her knees and cried. All her tools and equipment, her new Ferris Zero-Turn mower, over $20,000 worth of tools; her DeWalt boxes and power tools had all been stolen. To rub salt in the wound, the thieves had ransacked the building, throwing the sidetables, shelves and projects she’d been working on all around the barn and yard. Everything was destroyed.
Lynn worked her whole life in and around Trumansburg. She went to T-burg public schools and, as a volunteer firefighter, she risked her life to save other people’s possessions. She can tell you about the dogs, the precious furniture, the wedding dresses, and the people she has pulled out of burning buildings. And now, in one night of cruelty, 50-years-worth of tools and equipment were stolen from her.
It probably took at least three people and two trucks to steal everything. They must have worked up a sweat smashing Lynn's life work.
If you have any information leading to the arrest of the thieves or the recovery of all her stolen tools, Lynn is willing to offer a reward. She’s retired and living on a small pension, so I can’t imagine where the reward will come from. She estimates everything stolen would cost nearly $40,000 to replace, a cost she’ll never be able to cover. And, after someone crashed into her truck earlier this year, you know how little her insurance will actually want to help.
If there is any way you can Pitch In to Help Lynn, this GoFundMe page is a great way to start. Please Pitch In a little or a lot. Lynn has spent her life helping out the people of her community, and it’s time we gave back to this wonderful person in her moment of need
